In 1834, Massachusetts inventor Nathaniel Wyeth journeyed west to the Oregon territories. His path has endured as part of the Oregon Trail’s 2,170 miles. Today, hikers on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge travel a trail named in honor of Wyeth. Cascading chains of sharper shapes represent waterfalls found on this journey: enchanting Emerald Falls, and spectacular two-tiered Gorton Creek Falls. Feather-edged geometric motifs echo the rainforest greenery surrounding this popular trail.
